What is the best shape for you?
We have heard it so many times! People often times curse and complain about their kitchens and it's lack of function, which is usually a cause from it's layout.
The way to get your kitchen old or new to work well is to remember the work triangle; the distance between your three main appliances, such as the stove, fridge and sink. When designing a kitchen we always keep this in mind for you!
Before you begin creating a design consider your current layout and what you like and don't! In the end there are 3 basic kitchen layouts; the Galley, U-shaped, and L-shaped.

Galley Layout

Galley Kitchen

A Galley kitchen layout is structured like a corridor. It is a great layout for smaller spaces and it is also easy to use for cooks since everything is so close together! However, the downside is it would be hard to have more than one cook or another person utilize the space at the same time. It can get tight quick!

U-Shaped Layout

U-Shaped Kitchen

One of the most popular layouts is the U-shape kitchen layout. Typically used in larger spaces, the U-shape kitchen will offer room for a peninsula which will double the entertaining and prep space. Another benefit, if you have the space add an island to maximize your work space!

The L-shaped kitchen layout is a commonly found layout and is perfect for entertaining. This space also offers a more user friendly space to accommodate more than one user at a time. If you have room for an island with a small prep sink you can double your space's functionality. With all the counter-top space, this layouts major downfall is clutter! It is easy to allow it to accumulate, so fight the urge to keep your space looking clean and efficient!
