Smaller Spaces

Smaller spaces can definitely present some challenges, especially when it comes to storage and space. With that being said don't despair! Our designers have many tips and tricks up their sleeves to help maximize your space in form, function and efficiency. Here are some tips and tricks they use often to get the most out of your space!

Maximize the Vertical

With smaller spaces you want exaggerate the height. Instead of cutting your room off short by selecting a shorter wall cabinet, extend them to the ceiling. Or one of our favorites is to stagger the height of your wall cabinets to offer the illusion of overall room height and dimension. Take advantage of the taller cabinets we offer to maximize the storage and space your room has.

Storage within Storage

With so many storage accessories available, we can help you select the best fit to maximize your cabinet space and make your room functions efficiently. For smaller rooms, consider upgrading your shelving to Pull-Out Shelves. Something as simple as this will limit your time reaching for items in an already tight space. Bring the items to you! Take full advantage of the cabinet accessories we offer by discussing with your designer about your desired function of your space.

Hide the Clutter
In smaller spaces like kitchens, the counter top is a premium space to exaggerate the feeling of space. Counter tops have a large surface area that will reflect more light when you can see it! Avoid having too many items on your counter tops. Only have well place necessities. This will make your space not only function more efficiently but it will eliminate the feeling of tightness and offer more light. Hide the appliances in custom designed cabinet spaces and move the knick-knacks or junk mail to other spaces.
A few well  placed necessities are all your countertop needs to feel open and light!

A Lighter Color Palette

When selecting your color for your cabinets and space consider a lighter color pallet. Light colors will reflect light easier and will create the feeling of space. When selecting a darker color for a small space, the room will feel darker and tighter. Which usually is the opposite you want to feel in spaces like your kitchen our bathrooms.
